    An extremely promising start…

    I’d like to start by saying I haven’t built a model kit since I was like, 6 years old: I didn’t enjoy it very much. Almost two decades later, this was a true joy to put together and mess around with. I’ve been looking for some high quality and slightly stylized Transformers to collect since most other brands are too far into their lines for me to easily collect the older figures, so joining the start of this line is really exciting for me. With that being said, I have to be a little bit of a buzzkill and talk about some nitpicks. I’m aware the Megatron prototype showcased double joints, but the single jointed elbows on Optimus made posing with the axe far more limited than I would have hoped (the range of the shoulders does help a slight bit here though). My second gripe would be the lack of a normal faceplate; I know the older figures and series didn’t display Prime with lips, but it being so commonplace with modern designs made it’s absence here a slight shame. On the contrary; options to turn this into the original Optimus figure from back in the day, with the sticker set and orange eyes, were such a cool inclusion for older fans. Overall I was thoroughly impressed with this figure and the simplicity of the building process. I’m so excited for the hopefully extensive catalogue of characters Blokees will make in this "Action Edition" wave, which at least temporarily promised with the Megatron announcement and Bumblebee tease included in Optimus’ sticker pack. Get this…
