Step 2: Identify your priority grooves first. Trace them with your eye before touching the pen. Know where the groove starts and ends. Running past the groove onto a flat surface is the main thing you’re avoiding.
Step 3: Apply the liner in one pass along the groove. The ink will flow in by itself. You’re not pressing or filling — just touching the pen tip to the groove entry point and letting it travel.
Step 4: Wait for the ink to dry. Two to three minutes is enough for most panel liner inks. Don’t touch it.
Step 5: Clean up overspill. If ink ran onto a flat surface, use a cotton swab lightly dampened with enamel thinner or lighter fluid to wipe the overspill. The ink in the groove stays; flat-surface ink lifts with gentle pressure.

Protecting Panel Lines After Application

Panel liner ink is fairly durable once dry. For long-term display, a matte top coat over the entire kit surface locks the lines in and also reduces the plastic sheen to a more anime-accurate flat finish.

Don’t apply top coat until the liner has cured for 24 hours. And don’t apply it over the Kurama magnetic light-up chest feature — the top coat can interfere with the light transmission.
